How this ranking works
The table ranks the highest unmodified work-suitability level recorded for each job in Palpedia's installed Palworld 1.0 catalog. It is a factual starting-rank comparison, not a claim that one Pal is universally best.
A specialist with the highest level usually finishes its assigned task fastest, while a slightly lower-ranked Pal with several useful jobs can be better for a compact base. Size, pathing, food use, partner skills, passives and how early you can obtain the Pal still matter.

The first column contains every tied catalog leader up to three entries; the next column shows three strong alternatives. Values are generated directly from the current 299-Pal dataset.

Specialists versus flexible workers
Choose specialists for production lines that run continuously, such as furnaces, medicine benches or cooling. Choose flexible workers when the base changes jobs frequently and idle time would cost more than a small difference in suitability level.
Use the Monitoring Stand to keep a high-rank specialist on the task you recruited it for. A great Mining Pal that repeatedly abandons the quarry for Transporting can underperform a lower-rank worker with a clean assignment.

- Identify the one job currently blocking production.
- Open the top candidates in Palpedia and compare their full suitability set.
- Check the interactive map before committing to an endgame-only target.
- Use the breeding calculator when a strong candidate is easier to breed than capture.
- Revisit the shortlist after unlocking new regions or improving work suitability.
